Directional Driller

Full-time

Overview:

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Directional Driller will be responsible for all phases of any directional drilling jobs by planning, execution and management in order to meet or exceed client expectations. Travel is required. The driller will be operating a Vermeer 2330.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspection
  • Ability to operate all equipment functions independently and safely
  • Provide technical support to clients and crew member as required
  • Keep abreast of all directional drilling techniques and all surveying methods
  • Manage inventory and supplies
  • Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving of loads and conduct in response to hand or audio signals from team members
  • Interpret stakes and signage on the land
  • Ensure all reporting requirement are fulfilled
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, sleet, snow, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions
  • Work under stress and with commitment to timelines and deadlines on a daily basis
  • Adhering to Brass specific policies and regulations
  • Adhering to site specific rules and regulations
  • Protect and promote the interest of this company in all matters and to take actions as required to satisfy such responsibilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Maintain excellent communication between members of the team and clients
  • Train, coach, and mentor less experienced directional drillers
  • Working as a member of the team by assisting other members when required

Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate from the Resource Drilling and Blasting program
  • Valid AZ license
  • Physically fit
  • Complete client’s site-specific training as required
  • Ability to be dispatched through the local union as per the collective agreement
  • Thorough knowledge of state-of-the-art drilling and surveying technologies and practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with managers, peers, and clients
  • Ability to operate all equipment functions independently and safely
  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, sleet, snow, wind, and/or wet/humid conditions
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision

Hydrovac Swamper

Full-time

Overview:

Brass Inc. provides hydro excavation services to customers in and around the Greater Toronto Area and we are looking for individuals to safely and properly perform hydro excavation projects.

Minimum experience required is 3 to 5 years.

Brass is a unionized company which provides highly competitive rates along with pension and benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures
  • Ensure the safe and successful completion of all hydrovac requirements
  • Complete all required paperwork properly as required
  • Conduct and record pre and post trip inspections
  • Ensure all hydrovac truck equipment and components are always in good working condition
  • Must follow and adhere to all safety practices and policies

Qualifications:

  • AZ License is preferred but not required
  • Previous hydrovac, trucking, vacuum truck experience preferred
  • Must be able to work independently
  • Strong customer service orientation
  • Must be in good physical condition to perform duties
  • Flexible work schedule to accommodate production needs

Hydrovac Operator
